The Board of Trustees of the Finger Lakes Library System understands the value of continuing education for library staff. As a means of assisting with the costs of attending the New York Library Association Annual Conference in Saratoga Springs, New York, November 5 – 8, 2008, FLLS offers four (4) scholarships of $750 each. The preliminary conference program was recently mailed to all NYLA members, and may also be found on the NYLA website at www.nyla.org. If you need a printed copy of the program contact FLLS.
Criteria for Application:
Must be a library employee or trustee
Must plan to attend full conference
Must provide written report for sharing with other member library staff via System meeting or System newsletter
Priority will be given to those who have never attended a library conference
One scholarship per library
Application process:
Submit application to FLLS Director in advance of final deadline for registration (early bird registration for conference deadline is August 15) in writing or via e-mail
Include name, library, position (library staff or trustee)
Approval and notification will be on a first come, first served basis
Applications will be accepted until all awards have been made
Payment will be made upon proof of registration
