Chat With a Librarian! Anytime! Anywhere!
Looking for an obituary? How about a book recommendation? Help finding resources for a school project? This great tool is perfect for those times when your library is closed or you have a question you might want to ask anonymously.*
Not only is Ask Us 24/7 a great resource for patrons, but it’s also a great tool for our member libraries! Do you have a patron with a question you just can’t answer? It never hurts to ask for help and with Ask Us 24/7, you can ask for help anytime, from any computer or device!
Access to the service is available at www.askus247.org.
While you may not be chatting with one of our librarians, you will be chatting with a reference librarian. The librarian who answers your inquiry will be able to help you with questions about your library and will help you find answers to other questions you may have by using a range of Internet sources and specialized databases. If you need assistance with your library account, your question will be referred and a librarian from your home library will get back to you via email.
Ask Us 24/7 is a project managed by the Western New York Library Resources Council in Buffalo, NY. Ask Us 24/7 also receives support from the South Central Regional Library Council in Ithaca, NY and the Central New York Library Resources Council in Syracuse, NY. Ask Us 24/7 utilizes QuestionPoint (OCLC) software.
*Choosing to be anonymous will not email you give a transcript of your chat or connect you with your home library if you need to be referred.
