New COSAC Members Wanted
Join the Finger Lakes Library System
Coordinated Outreach Services Advisory Council
We are currently looking for 2-3 new members to join our COSAC Team! Meet with other COSAC members twice a year over lunch at our offices in Ithaca, NY.
The Council is composed of one director of a member library and representatives from agencies serving FLLS’s targeted outreach populations. If any of these areas of Outreach apply to you, we would love to hear from you:
• individuals who are 55+ years old
• individuals with visual, physical, or developmental disabilities
• residents of institutional facilities
• ethnic minorities
• individuals with an educational disadvantage
• job seekers
• individuals who are geographically isolated
• incarcerated individuals and individuals with criminal records.
Input from every Council member is valued highly by the Outreach Department, and the varied representation of Council members serves to promote better understanding of the special informational needs of individuals broadly served by System outreach services. COSAC members also serve as judges for FLLS’s Annual Outreach Mini Grant and Outreach Award.
Interested or know someone who is? Contact Amanda at aschiavulli@flls.org or (607) 273-4074 x227
More information about COSAC:
Mandated by New York State law, the Finger Lakes Library System Coordinated Outreach Services Advisory Council (COSAC) meets twice a year to advise the Outreach Department and assist in the evaluation of our coordinated outreach in Cayuga, Cortland, Seneca, Tioga and Tompkins counties. COSAC’s collaborative efforts offer essential support to FLLS’s general mission “to stimulate, coordinate, and strengthen library and information services within (the five-county service area).”
