Pandemic Programming Ideas Webinar Follow-Up
On April 22, Finger Lakes Library System held a Pandemic Programming Ideas Webinar. Attendees discussed simple and engaging multi-generational programs that can be held online. Social media engagement ideas were also included.

An important question from the discussion: Why can’t I mail items to my patrons right now?
Libraries are currently labeled non-essential and staff can only perform essential tasks within their building, such as checking the boiler or paying bills. Mailing items to patrons, or other tasks like weeding, don’t fall into any of the essential task categories. There is a fine of up to $2,050 for going against this order. Our situation is changing day-by-day and you may have more freedom to do these types of tasks in the near future. Recommendations from FLLS will always fall within NYS legal guidelines. We will keep you apprised of any updates. More guidance for Summer Reading is also being developed by FLLS and NYS.
